Cory Scott Simmons was born on July 31, 1980, in Florida. He attended Florida State University, earning his Bachelor’s in Philosophy and Theater. At FSU, Cory participated in various leadership programs and was recognized as a Florida Bright Futures Scholar.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Cory pursued a law degree at Florida Coastal School of Law. There, he became known for his academic abilities and passion for the legal field. Cory was part of the Moot Court Honor Board and took part in mock trial competitions, where he perfected his public speaking and argumentation skills. He won the National Moot Court Competition in 2005 and was named Best Oralist in the Prince Evidence Competition in 2006.
After graduating with his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007, Cory Simmons began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He prosecuted many cases in this role, from misdemeanors to serious felonies. As the lead attorney, Cory handled 18 trials and secured 12 guilty verdicts.
